About

Hello!

I’m an 19 year old student who is just trying to make sense of my own world.

I began blogging quite a few years ago after seeing my first ever Charlatans concert. There was something about that  gig which was so powerful, I can’t quite explain it. Whether or not it was the intimacy of the venue or how the songs were stripped back and raw with it being an acoustic set, I feel as though I left that night a completely different person. It was this gig which sparked my creative side, led me to a world of writing and inspired me to begin Telling Stories.

Since then, music has encapsulated me so much so that I decided to start my own fanzine, Woodnote. Doing this has opened up so many doors. I’ve met some amazing people, got to interview my idols and two years after watching The Charlatans for the first time, Tim Burgess asked me to be his Writer in Residence at Kendal Calling 2013 – of which was an experience of a life time!

I’m a big believer in fate, being in the right place at the right time, but I also believe you have to make it happen. You need to believe in yourself in order to get where you want to be.

Be your own biggest fan!

I’m hoping to start branching out a little bit on this blog. I’ll let you into my world, talk about fashion and beauty and introduce you to some fresh new bands that will hopefully inspire you as much as they have inspired me.

All of my beauty reviews will be my honest opinion. I cannot claim to be an expert in this field but I will give as best advice as I can and hope that in some way it will help you.

If you’d like to check out Woodnote head over to its blog at: www.woodnotemagazine.blogspot.com where I’ll bring you the latest on goings in the music scene.

Until then keep updated at my twitter @AbiGillibrand

Happy Reading! xx
