Holy Grail | Challenge

1) Holy Grail foundation? –

Maybelline dream matte mousse SPF 15, I absolutely swear by this stuff at the moment. The colour I have is: Sand. It seems to go on quite thinly but for day to day use it’s perfect.

2) Which eyeshadow or palette do you always go back to? –

Gold Look, Next eye palette .  It has pretty much every natural colour you could ever want in there, with a few glittery ones for going out. It’s ace.

3) Which of these is your staple; Blusher or Bronzer? Which one? –

Blusher – Natural Collection, Rosey Cheeks. To be honest I haven’t really tried that many blushers. It was my sister who recommended this to me and I haven’t looked back since.

Bronzer – Collection, Bronze Glow Matt in the colour terracotta. It’s cheap and very high Street, I know, but it does the trick and looks great, so I really can’t complain.

4) Gloss or Lipstick? Which one do you always turn to? –

Gloss – Clinique long last glosswear SPF15. I wear this every day. I suffer a lot with chapped lips, but using this lip gloss seems to prevent them from getting chapped and so I never leave the house without it on.

5) You’re having a bad skin day, which product do you instantly reach for? –

Natural Collection – colour foundation again in the colour Sand. This is a little bit thicker than the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and the coverage is a lot better. I very rarely wear this on a day to day basis, but when it’s that time of the month and my skin starts breaking out, I do have to delve deep inside my make-up back and whack on some of this.

6) You want sexy lashes today; which mascara can you always rely on? –

Clinique high impact mascara. It never lets you down and always makes your lashes look fuller.

7) Which brand of brushes are your favourite? –

EcoTools – these brushes are great. Not only are they environmentally friendly, they are also really soft! I didn’t realise the importance of getting the right brush until I purchased these, and they make such a difference to your make-up. Giving you a flawless finish.

8) Which is your everyday perfume/body spray? –

I’ve never really been into body spray. My family have allergies and so I’ve always used scentless deodorants.

9) Which is your signature makeup look? –

I normally go for a thin line of black eyeliner with a brown smokey eye and rosey cheeks.

10) Finally, which cosmetics brand overall is your most collected? –

You can probably tell after these answers that I love natural collection, but have also hoarded some Clinique products along the way.

If I could afford it, I’d love to try out more Clinique products as they’re just so lovely.

White Eyeliner | Natural Collection

20150409_225120 (3)

I’m very skeptical about white eyeliners. It can either look really good or really bad.

I guess it depends on the colour and shape of your eyes. Your skin complexion but most importantly what eye-shadow and eyeliners you wear it with.

I’ve never felt brave enough to wear it and really didn’t think I’d be able to pull it off. However the other week I plucked up the courage and bought a white eyeliner.

The eyeliner is from Natural Collection. I love this brand. It’s really affordable and doesn’t affect my skin. I’ve not experienced one bad product from Natural Collection yet and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a high quality high street brand.

I must admit I don’t wear the white eyeliner everyday – I’m still a little bit unsure as to whether or not I suit it. However, I quite like to put it on on a night out.

It makes you look more awake and seems to open up your eyes.

Sometimes it can look a little bit harsh but I find that if you apply just a thin layer then it can add a really lovely effect to your eye makeup.

I guess with a product like this you’ll just have to try it out yourself. But don’t be afraid like I was to buy one. You never know, you might fall on something really great!

Valentines Day | Make-Up

I don’t have any gripes with Valentines Day, in fact I think it’s a rather cute tradition. Couples should show their fondness of each other all year round, but to have that one special day gives them an excuse to share time together and maybe take their relationship a step further.

I’ve only celebrated Valentines Day one, and that was quite some time ago! Again, I shall be going it alone this year… I guess I’m still waiting for that Mr Right to show up, or maybe I’ve already found him but just don’t know it yet.

Never the less, I’m going out and celebrating tomorrow evening with my dear housemate Abbie. We have bough tickets to go and see a King Charles gig, which I’m so excited about! Last time I saw him he was amazing, so lets hope he is just as good! I mean, you can’t really go wrong spending your valentines night with King Charles now, can you?

Anyway, here is how I shall be doing my make up for the evening. I hope you like it…

I’m so sorry for the really bad lighting in these photos, my room is just so dark and dim that it’s hard to get a good photo.

For my eyes I used the NO7 Eye Shadow Palette, using colours from the Golden Trio, the Cappuccino Trio and the Chocolate Fondant Quad (numbers 9, 10 and 14 in the set). I absolutely love this set, the shades are all so natural and are really easy to apply, lasting a long amount of time.

As always, my lipstick is from Natural Collection in the colour Hazelnut. I can’t get enough of this recently! To make it last longer, I’d normally apply a layer of Clinique’s Long Last Gloss Wear in the colour Stellar Plumb, which is pretty much the same colour. However, I think this shade is limited edition and has gone out of stock which is such a shame as it’s gorgeous. The closest I can find in the same make is Bonfire which is almost exactly the same – just a touch lighter.

I hope you all have a great Valentines Day whether or not you’re single or in a relationship. Make it special!

November Favourites

For me this month has been quite a difficult month to get through. With deadlines pressing and and not seeing my family for almost six weeks, it has been a bit of a struggle. But there have been ways I’ve managed to over come stress and take my mind off the homesickness…

The first thing I did was buy an advent calendar for November. It may seem strange, but I’ve found it a great way to get through this month. Knowing that I was seeing my family in 25 days, I began the advent calendar as a count down to when I was going home. Visibly being able to see the days going down one by one, makes it a lot easier to get through them and it tends to make them go that little bit faster. I’m not wishing my life away, I just really can’t wait to see my mum and dad!

I’ve had a huge essay to write this month, and it has been dragging. I feel like all week I’ve had 100 words left to write and they just never seem to get written. So I decided to get myself a few treats from the shop to act as brain food throughout the past few weeks. I cant get enough of these Fizzy multi-colour belts from tesco. It’s three packets for £1 and I just happened to pick them but, but they were such a good find!

With all this work  going on, I was in desperate need for some down time. When my parents came to visit me a while back, they brought up the final season of 90210. I’ve been watching them for so long now and to see the series come to an end is really sad. I only have two episodes to go, I don’t know what I’ll do with myself when it’s done.

I have to be honest with you, a lot of procrastination has been going on but through procrastinating came good things! I rediscovered my red lipstick. I’d totally forgotten I had this colour, and one night when going through my make-up bag, I came to find the Natural Selection red lipstick. I’m totally in love with it and must wear this colour more often.

I’ve felt a little bit sorry for myself over the past few weeks and so have been giving myself the ultimate TLC treatment through this product. John Frieda conditioner is soo lovely. The smell is gorgeous and the results are stunning! I know being a student you’re supposed to get the raw deal, but I splashed out this month a little bit. I just absolutely love how this conditioner makes your hair feel.

So these are just a few favourites of mine this month, what have you been loving?

Let me know if you’d like to see me write more posts like this x

Cedar – Moisture Shine

Last weekend I decided to be brave and went and treated myself to a few new lipsticks. Now I don’t always wear lipsticks as such, I’m more into lip gloss or tinted chap sticks, but I felt as though I was neglecting my lips and came to the conclusion that I needed to give them a make over.
I’ve always loved the Natural Collection section in Boots as it’s reasonably cheap and really good quality, so I headed straight for there. Going in blind I bought a tone that was close to my natural colour so that my lips are just enhanced when it’s applied.
I have fallen in love!
When I tried it on it’s slightly darker than my actual lips, but it just gives them that edge. It has definitely become my new favourite beauty product. The colour is Cedar and the price was only £1.99 which I thought was amazing.
It is long lasting and as I have an olive skin complexion it just gives my over all look a great finish.

What’s your favourite lipstick colour?
