Another Shoe Post

boots

Like I said in my previous post, I cannot stay away from black lace up boots at the minute, and well… You may be able to guess that I have purchased some more.

I’ve been wanting some creeper style boots for a while now. I think that the thick chunky soles look really cool and tend to elongate your legs (which is every girls dream!) So when I went on a shopping trip the other day my eyes were constantly searching for some boot styled creepers to add to my shoe collection.

I found some adorable shoes in Office and couldn’t leave them behind! I’ve had other pairs of shoes from Office before and I have to admit that they were the comfiest pair I’ve ever owned. So I knew that these would feel just the same.

They are super shiny and really comfy – on my first outing in them I went on an hours walk and my feet just managed to make it round which I think is pretty good going!

You do gain around two inches when wearing these shoes. As I am very tall already this was something I had to think about – I don’t want to wear them and break the 6 foot threshold (I am a little bit self conscious of my height) but they don’t seem to make you look too much taller and so I can get away with their soles – as long as I don’t have a growth spurt!

They are quite expensive as they’re not leather boots. But you do get what you pay for, and £60 is the average shoe price today anyway! I did umm and ahh a bit as they’re plastic, and plastic, however they were so pretty I couldn’t turn them down.

I am normally a size 7 however in these shoes I had to get a size 8 so I don’t know if they’re a smaller fitting, but definitely watch that!

If you’d like to get yourself a pair you can find them in the Office shops or online here. You can also get them in Ox Blood Red which are equally as gorgeous!

Dr Martens | Aimilita Boots

11992194_10153583691297370_1054734860_n (2)

I have wanted this pair of boots for so long now it is insane, but I’ve never been brave enough to spend over £100 on shoes. I don’t know why, because Dr Martens are so worth the money, but being a student I guess you can always come up with better and maybe more useful things to spend your pennies on (like rent, food and bills!) However, when I saw these boots in the sale there was no way I couldn’t get them.

At the moment, I am boot crazy. I always have to resist trying them on in shops or even picking a pair up, because I kind of just instantly fall in love with them. I don’t know what it is. They’re not particularly feminine, and once you have one pair – you really have them all. But there’s something just yummy about purchasing a new pair of boots.

I’ve been on the prowl for some brown, lace up boots. My excuse for wanting these is because I have not yet bought any brown boots before and so I thought I needed these as an addition to my wardrobe for when I want a change from my black ones.

When looking online I came across these gorgeous Dr Martens and completely fell in love. However my purse was empty and at the price of £130 there was no way I could afford them. So I kept on browsing but nothing ever came close to matching these shoes.

It was quite recently that I was informed that the Dr Martens shop had a sale on and with hearing this I went straight onto their site to see if my dream boots had been reduced in price. To my surprise they were up at half price! And not only this… they were in my size too!

This never happens for me, they’re either still at their full price, or sold out in my size so when I saw this, I had to get them.

I already have some Docs that I bought when starting sixth form and had to trek for the bus everyday, so I already knew that a size 7 (yes I have big feet!) was the perfect fit. I quickly snaffled a pair into my basket and ordered them along with some Doc Socks.

You hear the horror stories of how when you first buy a new pair of Docs they rip up your feet until you’ve walked them in enough – so Doc socks have extra padding on the back to help prevent blisters. I never knew about Doc socks until I was ordering them and since getting them they have worked wonders! I would definitely say to splash out that extra £8 to save your feet from all of the pain.

The delivery was quick, although it felt like ages, and they came in all of the Dr Marten’s packaging. Dr Marten tape, Dr Marten box, Dr Marten tissue paper – it was pretty easy to tell what I’d ordered!

I opened the box and they had that gorgeous new leather shoes smell – which has lingered for quite some time. When pulling them out of the box I couldn’t help but notice how light weight they were and how soft the leather was. Normally Docs are made out of quite hard sturdy leather, but these were super soft – which I think has helped ease the pain of new Docs too – as they’d only started to rub after going on a half an hour walk – which is pretty impressive for their first outing.

The inside of the shoe is lined with such beautiful flowery material all in reds and yellows which adds to their detail making them that little bit more special. And they came with two types of laces – normal brown ones and some silky and shiny ribbon ones!

Either laces look good in them – at the moment I have the ribbons in as I think they make them look that little bit more girly, however in the winter I might change them around as the normal laces might withstand the British weather better!

Over all I am super impressed with these shoes. They actually make you feel like you’re walking on air and just give your outfit that extra something.

They’re still in the sale now! So if you act quick, click HERE and you might be able to grab yourself a pair… Good luck!

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick | Review

I have been wanting a new lipstick for quite some time now. All the lipsticks I own are from the Natural Collection section in Boots. Don’t get me wrong, it is an amazing brand, however, I wanted to try something new.

I’d heard about Rimmel’s Kate Moss Collection through numerous reviews that I’ve read and so decided to try it out – since purchasing this lipstick, I’ve been non-stop wearing it. It’s gorgeous.

The first thing I noticed about this lipstick is how long it lasts. I’ve never had lipstick that has managed to stay on throughout a meal, let alone an entire day. I was really impressed.

I also love the finished look. Normally with the lipsticks I’ve been using, they always leave a bit of a shiny, greasy finish, as though I’ve added some lip gloss on top. However, this lipstick has such a matte finish, with insane pigmentation that gives it a stand out look.

It tends to go on really thick and has a creamy feel to it which leaves your lips feeling super moisturized.

The shade I chose is Wine (107). It’s so beautiful and I think goes really well with my skin tone. It’s not as red as it looks on the pictures when you see it in the shop – It has more of a hot pink tint to it – but it is equally as nice if not better!I’m super excited about this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a new lipstick to try out.

I may just go and get a different colour.

You can buy it in your local Superdrug store, or find it online here.

What’s your favourite lipstick? Please let me know in the comments section below!

War of the Liners

I’m a huge user of eyeliner and have been trying to find the ideal one. Over my teenage years I have managed to narrow it down to three!
They’re all completely different types of liner so I guess you can choose whichever one you want depending on what look you’re going for. I’m no make-up expert and I this is only my opinion but here are my top three eyeliners that I have come across and would recommend to anyone!
In third place I’m going to put the Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner from Collection 2000. As much as I love this look I do feel as though it goes on just that little bit too thick and can feel quite heavy. This could be due to the brush that they provide you with, it does seem a little bit too big for its purpose and so I may have to purchase a smaller one in order to get more precision. However the quality of the liner is great and stays on throughout the whole day without a single crack or smudge!

My runner up is the Clinique Intense Black Pencil Liner. This was a lucky find as it was a freebee in one of my mum’s Clinique gifts so I just randomly fell upon it (I don’t normally buy Clinique due to the expense). However, you do get what you pay for and this is a shining example. The application is easy and the liner seems so soft that you can get a sharp line on top of your eye as well as the bottom. Again, this lasts all day without any smudges or cracks and gives a lovely matt finish to your eyes.  I do feel however that it’s harder to do a line on your top lid with pencil than it is liquid which helped my decision in ranking this second place.

This takes you to my winner! The eyeliner I use pretty much every day is the Natural Collection liquid eyeliner. With the brush being so thin and delicate the application is easy allowing you to get the perfect wing and line. The brush allows you to be accurate and the nature of the eyeliner itself gives a sharp matt finish. Throughout the day it does not smudge however it may crack a tiny bit, but nothing too obvious. I find that it is the quickest one to apply and lasts all day which is why I rated this my number one eyeliner.
Which make is your favourite eyeliner? Do you find pencil easier to apply than liquid? Comment below and let me know what you think!

Recent Favourite Buy | New Shoes

So here I am on the brink of going to Uni and what a better excuse than to buy some new school shoes? I found these beauties in the Trafford Centre’s TopShop and instantly fell in love. Since going to Kendal Calling last year and seeing everyone in their oxblood Dr Martens I’ve wanted some. However, I find Docs a bit clumpy for daily wear, great in the snow and winter, but for the summer I wanted something a little bit daintier. I hadn’t seen anything ‘Boot-y’ and oxblood that wasn’t Docs or wasn’t too bulky until now so I instantly had to take the opportunity and get these gorgeous lace ups. I think they’ll be great for trekking around Manchester!
What’s your recent favourite buy?

Purchase of the day | Primark, The 1975

Shirts – Primark – £12

I don’t usually buy anything from Primark, it’s one of those shops where they either have exactly what you want or nothing at all but when entering today, I couldn’t resist picking up these two shirts. They’re so floaty and colourful and not for a bad price either. I’ve noticed that Primark are putting their prices up, they need to make sure they don’t get ahead of themselves!

The 1975 CD – HMV – £4.99

HMV has gone awesome. I don’t know why or what has happened for it to go awesome but the one in my town has had a total transformation since the scare of it closing down. They now sell Vinyls in-store, have a huge choice of artists that aren’t particularly mainstream and are selling CDs from independent record labels. They’ve also started hosting gigs from local bands and have even had Goldblade perform there.
Today I purchased The 1975’s album. I’ve been aware of them for a long time, they’ve played at festivals I’ve been to and even ones hosted in my home town but I’ve never taken time to actually sit down and listen to them. It wasn’t until T in the Park was on TV that I heard them properly for the first time and since then they’ve become this summer’s soundtrack. I feel like the album is litteraly a compilation of their singles with a few extras thrown it. Every song is ace!

No17 Blusher Brush – Boots – £2.99

I finally got round to buying a blusher brush today after needing one for a very long time. It’s amazing how expensive they are which did have a big impact on the brush I chose. This one was only £2.99 and compared to £10+ that the other ones were selling for it was pretty cheap – I’ll just have to see how long it lasts for…
