Party Pants | Topshop

With winter drawing in and the nights getting that little bit colder, I decided it was time to put away the skirts and bring out the trousers. But that held one small problem… I didn’t have any trousers that were fit for going out in. Sure I had jeans, but they’re not really all too flattering on a night out.

So off to town I went.

I absolutely HATE shopping for trousers, jeans, pants, anything that goes from my hips to the floor. With all my height being in my legs it’s an absolute nuisance ploughing through a load of petite sizes for hours and returning home empty handed. There never seems to be a good tall section in any of the shops. It’s like the shops think you’re tall so therefore you must be plus sized, or you’re tall so all you want to wear all the time is work trousers. This is not the case. I keep praying for the day when I can walk into a shop, head straight for the jeans section and pick some out first time that are the exact right size.

This kind of happened at the weekend. Now I’m not getting my hopes up, I think this was just a lucky find, but when I went into TopShop there right in front of me was a tall section. Yes there were about three items on the rail, but never the less the items were really gorgeous. I managed to find exactly what I was looking for and I didn’t even need to rummage through the whole shop.

At first I pulled out some beautiful high wasted velvet patterned leggings. I must admit, touching the velvet goes through me slightly, but they were sooo nice that I couldn’t leave the shop without them. The print was in little diamond shapes but the pattern is subtle enough not to make them over bearing or like wallpaper. They had a really tight, cosy fit and gripped my ankles meaning that they will be able to be tucked into some boots. with a zip up the side I could tell that they were going to be a stand out piece in my wardrobe. It was an exciting find!

Then, sitting right next to them were some other trousers. This time they were just plain black, high wasted with a button on the front and sewn up pockets. They were stunning and when I tried them on they fitted like a glove! This left me in a conundrum,  both pairs were perfect but I felt greedy getting two pairs. However, since I haven’t treated myself in a long time and knowing I’d get a bit of discount with being a student I decided to take the plunge and get them both.

I’m soo happy that I bit the bullet and did this. It was quite a pricey shop but knowing Topshop everything seems to be extremely good quality, you definitely get what you pay for.

If you’d like to buy the trousers yourself then click here (and here)… they are well worth the buy!
